Canberra City Bowls Home Canberra's First Lawn Bowls Web Site! Links to: Canberra City Bowling Club Canberra City Bowling Club is one of the oldest bowling clubs in Canberra, having been formed a couple of years after Canberra became the nation's capital. In 2000 we became a part of the Ainslie Football and Social Club group. The club has over 250 men and women bowlers and runs a busy bowls program throughout the year. We field teams in the Bowls ACT Men's and Women's Pennant competitions, the Winter Pennant (mixed) and we hold several one-day and two-day tournaments, as well as our annual club championships. Social bowls events are held every Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We have three excellent couch greens. A roll-up green is available every day after 10:30am, except for Mondays or during bowls events. Bowls coaching is available for new bowlers, or indeed any who feel they are in need of brushing up their skills. For a few basics on bowls go to our introduction for new bowlers . We extend a cordial welcome to new members and visiting bowlers so do get in touch if you'e heading our way! Where to find us We are located in Elder St, Braddon, which is off Limestone Avenue, opposite Ainslie Primary School and just a kilometre from the city. Click here for a map.
